Lower Energy Consumption
DC ceiling fan motors don‘’t have to generate as much force as AC motors to turn the fan blades. In fact, DC fans use up to 70% less energy than AC fans. This means they produce the same output compared to a similar capacity AC fan, for significantly less energy. This will obviously save you money in the long run.
DC Fan Motors are Quieter
In general, DC fans are much quieter than AC ceiling fans. While ceiling fan technology has improved significantly over the years, AC fans still can‘’t quite escape that signature “hum” we associate with fans. This hum is usually caused by an electrical buzz created by the motor working to generate the force needed to push the fan blades. Comparatively, DC fans operate significantly quieter because the force needed to move the fan blades is so much less. This is due to the fact that blade movement is generated by magnets, which are obviously quieter than an AC motor. Electronic equipment cooling
Electronic devices generate a lot of heat during operation, DC fans can achieve precise speed control, through PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals or analog voltage control to adjust the air speed to adapt to different cooling needs; and DC fans do not make a lot of noise during operation, because of the use of advanced bearing technology, such as ball bearings or magnetic levitation bearings, which provide a quieter operation.

Difference between DC fan and AC fan
The principle is different
The power supply of AC cooling fan is AC, and the voltage of power supply will change sinusoidally. However, the voltage of power supply of DC cooling fans is fixed, which must rely on the circuit control, so that the two groups of coils work in turn to produce different magnetic fields. Because the power frequency of AC fan is fixed, the change speed of magnetic pole produced by silicon steel sheet is determined by the power frequency. The higher the frequency is, the faster the switching speed of magnetic field will be. Theoretically, the speed will be faster, just like the principle that the more the number of poles of dc fan is, the faster the speed will be. However, the frequency should not be too fast, or it will cause difficulties in activation. We use dc fans on the computer radiator. Generally, a good cooling fan mainly focuses on the air flow, rotation speed, noise, service life, and the type of blade bearing.
The air flow is different
For cooling fans of the same size and specification, the motor volume of AC fan is large and the blades are short, while that of dc fan is just the opposite, and the blades are long and the motor is small such as the micro DC fan, so the air flow per unit area is more, the air flow is larger and the heat dissipation capacity is better.
The materials are different
The outer frame of AC fan is generally aluminum frame, while that of dc fan is plastic frame. Therefore, the capacity of temperature resistance is different. The choice of dc fan or AC fan depends on which product is more suitable for its own product with the same cost.
Budget
If you’re looking for a cost-effective solution and don’t mind slightly higher energy consumption, an AC fan might be the way to go. However, if you're willing to invest more upfront for long-term energy savings, a DC fan is a better option.

How to Identify Your DC Fan

Check the Motor Housing
Inspect the motor housing for a manufacturer's label or sticker.If the label mentions "DC motor" or "brushless motor," your fan is likely DC.If there's no specific mention of motor type, it's likely an AC motor.
Examine the Controls
Take note of the controls used to operate your ceiling fan.If your fan has a remote control, it's likely a DC motor fan. DC fans often come with remote controls for speed and settings adjustments.AC motor fans typically feature pull chains or wall switches for speed control.
Test the Speed Settings
Turn on your ceiling fan and observe the available speed settings.If you notice multiple speed options beyond the standard low, medium, and high, it's likely a DC motor fan.AC motor fans typically have three-speed settings controlled by pull chains or wall switches.
Listen to the Operation
Pay attention to the sound and smoothness of your fan's operation.DC motor fans tend to operate more quietly and smoothly compared to AC motor fans.If your fan emits minimal noise and vibrations, it's likely a DC motor fan.

Grease should be supplemented or replaced from time to time for the bearing of the DC fans according to the environmental conditions of use. In order to ensure good lubrication of the DC cooling fan during operation, the number of refueling shall not be less than 1000 hours/time, the enclosed bearings and motor bearings shall be refueled with zl-3 lithium-based lubricants, and 1/3 of the inner and outer rings of the bearings shall be filled. Oil shortage is strictly prohibited. Running.
The DC fans should be stored in a dry environment to prevent the motor from getting damp. When stored in the open air, there should be defensive measures. The DC fan should be prevented from bumping during storage and handling to avoid damage.
It can only operate when the DC fans are completely normal. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the power supply facilities have sufficient capacity and stable voltage, and it is strictly forbidden to operate without phase. The power supply line must be a dedicated line, and temporary power supply lines should not be used temporarily.
During operation, abnormal noise of the DC fans, severe heating of the motor, electrification of the casing, tripping of the switch, failure to start, etc. are found in the DC cooling fan. It should be shut down immediately for inspection. In order to ensure safety, it is not allowed to perform maintenance while the DC fan is running. After the maintenance, a test run should be carried out for about five minutes to confirm that there is no abnormal phenomenon before starting the operation.
Precautions for the use of DC Fan
Do not touch the blades and the power cord around the DC cooling fan or pull the power cord forcibly. Doing so will damage the shaft and power cord.
Please avoid the entry of dust, water droplets and small insects, which will affect the life and produce defective products.
Do not use in flammable gas and any harmful environment.
Do not use the DC cooling fan in a high temperature environment higher than 85°C. If the fan is used in a high temperature environment higher than 85°C, it will cause the fan to deform and affect its performance.
Please use the oil-containing fan within six months. Long-term storage will affect the performance of the DC cooling fan due to the storage environment.
When the fan is running, do not attempt to lock the fan for a long time. This will cause the fan to burn out due to the continuous stoppage and high heat generation.
