Sleeve bearing fans:sleeve bearings adopt the sliding friction mode and are filled with lubricating oil internally to reduce friction. The lubricating oil plays the role of lubrication and reducing resistance during the operation of the bearings. Oil-filled bearings are usually made by mixing metal powders (such as bronze, iron or aluminum) with graphite and pressing them together. After being sintered at high temperature, they form a porous structure, and the lubricating oil is stored in these pores.
Double ball bearing fans:ball bearings adopt the rolling friction method. They contain multiple steel balls inside, which rotate around the axis to reduce friction loss. The design of ball bearings minimizes friction force, reduces energy consumption and prolongs service life.
Advantages of sleeve bearing fans: Low price, suitable for occasions with limited budget; Applicable to medium and low-speed equipment, with relatively low initial noise.
Sleeve bearing fans' shortcoming:The lifespan is relatively short. The lubricating oil will gradually evaporate or leak, resulting in increased friction resistance and louder noise. It is also resistant to temperature variations, but its performance will deteriorate in high-temperature environments.
Ball bearing fan advantage:low friction, low energy consumption; high temperature resistance, suitable for high-load and high-temperature environments; long service life, suitable for high-speed rotating equipment.
Short coming:expensive.
